Love
never gives up,
never loses faith,
is always hopeful,
and,
of course,
endures through
every circumstance.

Ahhhhhhhh........ I'm down with chickenpox. Right now at home, of course. For 2 whole weeks, you won't find me on the streets. I was mumbling about wanting retreat for the past few weeks since school term reopens. Now I got it. The funniest thing is I saw 1 pox on my arm. I suspected it to be chickenpox because I have never seen such a pink spot on my body. On Saturday on my way to school, I was asking God whether it is really chickenpox. To my horrible surprise, He said, "Yes."
"Ok. But why now? This is the worst time to have chickenpox."
"Sorry, the date's been fixed."
"How about no pox on my face and *..?"
No answer
I feel like --argh!--
"Didn't you say you wanted a retreat? You have time to do stuff you want to do."
"Yes, but I will feel tired."
"At least you'll be in time for exams."
I was telling my mum that I am going through a slimming programme.
I don't mind eating porriadge everyday. Well, two weeks will pass by quickly.
And I put away the mirrorss in my home. It's a pyschological effect. Like those extreme make-overs.
I feel tired and quite bored. As you can see...
Chickenpox caused by Varicella-zoster virus. Same family as herpes. Therefore it is also known as Human Herpes Virus 3 [HHV3].
2 weeks incubation period. Highly contagious via air, needless to say close contact.
Symtoms: Fever, headache, vomitting, dehydrated, red itchy spots that looks like beans with some fluid.
Danger!: Do not scratch or poke at your beans! May leave scar. No wind should be in your room - eyes will tear easily [no sure how true this is, mum said it]
Treatment: Pills to stop your fever and lessen the itchiness.
Foods to abstain according to doctor: Pork, Chicken, eggs, generally meat except fish.
The name "chickenpox" is given because our physicians of old said it's not as serious as smallpox. Since it's not as serious, it's 'chicken'. And they looked like specks that chicken picked. Hence, the name "chickenpox" It did not originate from chickens and transmit from chicken to human, and from human to human.
Get the idea right!
